Obituary of Jimmy Etheridge

Jimmy Etheridge, 63, husband on Mary Miller Etheridge, passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Born on November 14, 1949, in Georgetown County, he was a son of the late Marvin Claude Etheridge and the late Beulah Cribb Etheridge. Mr. Etheridge was US Army veteran having served in Vietnam from 1970 – 1971. He loved his country and was an advocate for Vietnam Veterans. Mr. Etheridge was a member of Graves Southern Baptist Church. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping, working in the yard, animals and above all else he loved his family. Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; three children, Sheila Etheridge of Pawleys Island, Melanie Grainger (Chucky) of Georgetown and Jeremy Etheridge of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Kaylee Etheridge, Cole Lambert, Reid Grainger and Holly Grainger; one sister, Birdell Ethridge of Athens, GA; a special nephew, Phillip Ethridge (Julie) of Lake Oconee, GA; and number of other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Elwood Etheridge. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Friday, December 7, 2012 at Graves Southern Baptist Church. The family will receive friend following the service at the church. Memorial may be made to Graves Southern Baptist Church, 44 Vine St. Georgetown, SC 29440.
