Obituary of Frances Norris Avant

Frances Norris Avant, 77, passed away January 14, 2024 in Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 3:00pm in the chapel of Graham Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00pm. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Avant was born in Conway, a daughter of the late Thurman Norris and Alvania Cribb Norris. She was a retired CNA with many years of faithful service. Mrs. Avant was a member of the VFW and an avid animal lover.
Surviving are two grandchildren, Cathy Shannon of Georgetown and John Taylor of Andrews; 8 great-grandchildren, Chester Shannon III, Chelsy Shannon, Chandler Shannon, Skyler Taylor, Raylyn Taylor, Hayleigh Taylor, Little JW Taylor, Carter Taylor; 3 sisters, Bonnie Branton, Geneva Norris, Judy Law; 3 brothers Eugene Norris (Susan), Sam Norris (Linda), Ben Norris (Daisy); her partner, Doc Verville, her best friend, Patsy Dickenson, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Albert Odell Avant, her daughter, Maggie Marie Terry, a sister Elizabeth Martin, and her brothers, Daniel Norris and Bill Norris.
