Obituary of Donald E. Vause

Donald E. Vause, 88 widower of Charlotte A. Vause, passed away on January 10, 2024 at MUSC in Charleston, SC. A funeral service will be held Sunday, January 14, 2024 at 3:00pm in the chapel of Graham Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00pm. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. Mr. Vause was born in Horry County, SC on May 26, 1935. He was the son of the late Hughie A Vause and Dottie Mae Sanders Vause. He was retired from Dawson Lumber Company after over fifty years of employment, having worked as a foreman of the sawmill. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, Washington Commanders, and South Carolina Gamecocks. He leaves behind many happy and fun memories along with the precious legacy of the importance of family. Surviving are: a sister Kathleen V. Wilson of Evans, GA: three sons, Jerry E. Vause (Valerie), Steve A Vause (Tina) both of Georgetown, SC, James Terry Vause of Myrtle Beach, SC; and a daughter Teresa E. Vause of Georgetown, SC: five grandchildren, Steve A. Vause Jr. (Katie), Jeremy S. Vause, Tiffany R. Vause, Danielle V. Black (David) all of Georgetown, and James Brian Vause (Tiffany) of Conway, SC: five great grandchildren: Ethan S. Vause, Emma S. Vause both of Georgetown, SC, Aiden C. Vause of Conway, SC, Ava G Black, and Sara Kate Black both of Georgetown, SC and one on the way. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Vause was predeceased by: 5 siblings, Willie A. Vause, Beulah Mae V. Bessent, Helen V. Windell, James E. Vause, and Archie L. Vause.
