Obituary of Charles Bradshaw

Charles Bradshaw, 75, husband of Celia Wood Bradshaw, succumbed to Alzheimer’s at his home on Friday, September 28, 2012 with his family by his side. Born on June 2, 1937, in Georgetown County, he was a son of the late William Gaylor Bradshaw Sr. and the late Edeline Anderson Bradshaw. Mr. Bradshaw was a member of First Baptist Church, Winyah Masonic Lodge #40 and the Winyah OES #148. He was retired from Georgetown Steel and enjoyed traveling. Mr. Bradshaw was a loving husband and father and the most important thing in his life was his family. He was kind hearted and always willing to go the extra mile. Mr. Bradshaw was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Celia Wood Bradshaw of Georgetown; two children, Joyce Bradshaw Powell (Charles) of Andrews and Charles Bradshaw, Jr. (Tonya) of Gaston; five grandchildren, Cutina Barrineau (Solon) of Andrews, Anastashia B. Powell of Myrtle Beach, Charlton B. Powell (Tina) of Andrews, Jennifer B. Garner (Keith) of GA and Charles Anthony Bradshaw of Spartanburg; nine great grandchildren; three brothers, William G. "Bill" Bradshaw, Jr. (Joyce) of McClellanville, Sam E. Bradshaw (Linda) of Liberty and Enoch W. Bradshaw of North Charleston; one sister, Mary Byron of Georgetown; a number of nieces and nephews; two brother in laws, Robert E. Wood and Lloyd Edward "Eddie" Wood both of Tyler, TX; a sister in law, Relva Featherstone (Dan) of Tyler, TX; and a special family friend, Tuesday Lee of Mt. Pleasant. He was preceded in death by one brother, Olen Buddy Bradshaw. Funeral Services will be held at 4:30 PM Monday, October 1, 2012 in the Graham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Teems, Dr. Ted Sherrill and Pastor Geraldine Bednego officiating. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3-5 PM Sunday at Graham Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, PO BOX 96011, Washington, DC 20090 or to First Baptist Church, 219 Cleland St. Georgetown, SC 29440.
