Margaret (Peggy) Deeter, 90, widow of Floyd B. Deeter, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Prince George Healthcare Center. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Lakewood Baptist Church. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Born in Dunbar, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Robert Smiley and the late Clara Smiley. Mrs. Deeter was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church. In her fifties, she went back to school to become a licensed practical nurse. Mrs. Deeter retired in her eighties after many years of service in memory care facilities. Surviving are one daughter, Sherry Deeter; one son, Larry Deeter and his wife, Ginny Deeter; three grandsons, Justin Deeter and his wife Kaitlyn, Ian Deeter and his wife Hilary, Shannen Deeter and his fiancé, Ansley; three great-grandchildren, Jude Deeter , Ellie Grace Deeter, and Lucy Deeter. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by four brothers, Robert Smiley, Wallace Smiley, Charles Smiley, and Frank Smiley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lakewood Baptist Church. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.grahamfuneralhome.org.
