Ina Griffith Byrge, 79, loving wife of Douglas Ray Byrge, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at her home with her family by her side.
Born on September 21, 1932, in Shady Springs, WV, she was a daughter of the late Carry Griffith and the late Iva Trail Griffith. Mrs. Byrge was a member of Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church. After working as a register nurse with Winyah Nursing Home, Mrs. Byrge’s love for children led her to becoming a pediatric nurse with Georgetown Memorial Hospital from which she retired at the age of 65. Mrs. Byrge was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed by all who loved her.
Survivors include her husband of Georgetown; four children, Timothy A. Byrge (Tammy), Teresa Paschal Bellue (Stephen), Tamela J. Byrge and Trina R. Johnson (Chris) all of Georgetown; one step-son, Bernie Byrge (Reyne) of Wisconsin; seven grandchildren, Lindsey Paschal Mobley (Brian) of Chester, Heather Paschal Rose (Anthony) of Mt. Pleasant, Christine N. Paschal (Caleb Sierra) of Georgetown, Lorna G. Bellue of Georgetown, Carrie A. Byrge of Georgetown, Skylar Johnson of Georgetown and Sydney Johnson of Georgetown; three step-grandchildren, Jessie Byrge, Jeremy Byrge and Mike Byrge all of Wisconsin; three great grandchildren, Landon Paschal and Isabella Sierra Paschal both of Georgetown and Addison Mobley of Chester; five sisters, Iva Atkinson of Andrews, Loraine Savage of California, Jeanette Matiks of West Virginia, Wilma Braden of West Virginia and Anita Rufus of North Carolina; and special friends, Raymond Paschal, Melissa Cribb and Barbara and Larry Joye all of Georgetown.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Curtis M. Griffith; and two sisters, Theda Shirkey and Irma Wesley.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Clide Glover and Rev. Lonnie Brazell officiating. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church.
