Obituary of JoAnn Grissom Gardner

JoAnn Grissom Gardner, 48, wife of Timothy Brian Gardner, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. A celebration of life will be held Friday, February 10, 2023 from 2-6 P.M. in the home of her grandmother, Fern Moody, located at 119 Broad Street in Georgetown. Born April 24,1974 in Washington, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Larry Andrew Grissom and Esther McDaniels Ward. She was a 1994 graduate of Georgetown High School and was a teaching aid at Prince George Winyah Anglican Church School. JoAnn loved music and more especially attending local music performances where she volunteered her time. She loved her family and extended family very much and relished her time spent with them. In addition to her husband of 23 years, she is survived by her mother; two sisters, Christell Grissom Garcia and her husband Leo of Michigan, Monique Grissom of Charleston; three brothers, Bubba Grissom and his wife Kelli of Georgetown, Matthew Grissom and his wife Dawn of Loris, Gunter Grissom and his wife Meghan of Georgetown; three godchildren, Evelyn Russ, Eleanor Russ, and Trey Russ, all of Georgetown, a proud aunt of numerous nieces and nephews, as well as a number of extended family and friends. DON'T CRY FOR ME Don't cry for me. I will be okay. Heaven is my home now, and this is where I'll stay. Don't cry for me. I'm where I belong. I want you to be happy and try to stay strong. Don't cry for me. It was just my time, but I will see you someday on the other side. Don't cry for me. I am not alone. The angels are with me to welcome me home. Don't cry for me, for I have no fear. All my pain is gone, and Jesus took my tears. Don't cry for me. This is not the end. I'll be waiting here for you when we meet again.
