Rena Karl “Mike” Lightcap, 74, life partner of Karen Steffen, passed away on September 22, 2022 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. A funeral service, with military honors, will be held on October 22, 2022, at 11:00 am at Graham Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Lightcap was born in Austria on May 22, 1948, to the late Howard Lightcap and the late Regina Wendel Lightcap. He was a United States Marine who served in Vietnam and was a member of the VFW in Niceville, Florida. Mr. Lightcap retired from Fleming Foods and enjoyed walking on the beach in his free time. Mr. Lightcap treasured his family and spent as much time as he was able with them, especially his grandchildren. He also took great care of his cherished Aunt Irene. He was a beloved father and grandfather who will be dearly missed. In addition to his life partner of forty-five years, Mr. Lightcap is survived by two sons, Brian Steffen (Carey) of Alexandria, KY and Scott Steffen (Michelle) of Pawleys Island, SC; six grandchildren, Connor, Julienne, Hannah, Liam, Sean, Colin; one sister, Michelle Harrell of Dawsonville, GA; two nephews, Travis Harrell of Atlanta, GA and Lance Harrell of Dawsonville, GA; one aunt, Irene Flores of Hobart, IN; and many extended family.
