Weston H. Venters, 94, husband of the late Louise W. Venters, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 4PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 3PM. Burial, directed by Graham Funeral Home, will be held in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Venters was born in Williamsburg County, SC on July 27,1927 to the late Julius Flemon Venters and the late Daisy Lawrimore Venters. He retired from International Paper where he worked as a foreman in the Pulp Mill. Mr. Venters served in the United States Army and was deployed during the WWII occupation of Japan. He was a member of over 50 years of Cavalry Free Will Baptist Church and more recently Graves Station Baptist Church. In his free time, Mr. Venters loved being outdoors, hunting, raising beagles, and spending time with his friends and family.
Mr. Venters is survived by three sons, Bobby H. Venters and his wife June A.Venters of Summerville, SC, Dale W. Venters and his wife LuAnn Venters of Georgetown, SC, Daniel L. Venters and his wife Pamela Venters of Georgetown, SC; seven grandchildren, Joy Johnson (Keith), Hoyt Venters (Heather), Brad Venters (Danette), Casey Venters (Sherry), Holly Lavoie (Bill), Danielle Crowther (Daniel), Melody Venters; 13 great grandchildren, Meredith Venters, Morgan Venters, Caleb Venters, Ana Venters, Clif Venters, Emma Venters, Ethan Venters, Makayla Davis, Ivy Venters, William Lavoie, Mac Lavoie, Katherine Johnson, Brilynn Venters; and 1 great-great granddaughter, Montana Venters. In addition to his beloved wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one great grandson, Weston “Wes” Henry Venters; five brothers, Jack Venters, Johnny J. Venters, Lester Venters, Hubert Venters, Verdie Lee Venters; three sisters, LouAddie Gaddy, Wanda Williams, and Helena Shaw.
