Obituary of Melvin M. Benton, Jr.

Melvin “Mack” M Benton, Jr. passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022 at his home in Andrews, SC. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Graham Funeral Home at 6:00 pm. The family will received family and friends at this time. Mr. Benton was born on July 25, 1956 in Georgetown, SC to the late Melvin M. Benton, Sr. and the late Gertrude Reeves Benton Henning. He was a member of Ringel Heights Baptist Church and was an avid pool player. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and singing for our Lord Jesus Christ. He dearly loved spending time with his family and friends and his dog Layla who was his most beloved friend and constant companion. Mr. Benton is survived by his son, Greg Benton; two daughters, Lauren Davis (Lee); Amber King Bounds (Preston); a stepdaughter, Amy Danielle Holt; four grandchildren, Savanna Benton Thomas (Bradley), Shawn Benton, Logan Benton, Owen Davis and Kingston Bounds. Three great grandchildren, Cash Thomas, Clay Thomas and Shawn David Benton; two brothers, Ricky Benton and Micki Benton; his ex-wife who remained a close friend, Stephanie Owens Benton; and his beloved dog, Layla.
