Obituary of Amelia Morrison Marlowe

Amelia Ross Morrison Marlowe, 80, wife of George Scott Marlowe, Sr. passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, March 4, 2022. A funeral service will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, 104 Oak Street in McClellanville, Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 2PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1PM to 2PM. Interment will be held in Brick Church at Wambaw Cemetery immediately following the service. Mrs. Marlowe was born on April 3, 1941 to the late James Brown Morrison and the late Anne Allston Dupree Morrison. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, volunteering at church, and spending time with her beloved family and friends. Surviving in addition to her husband of 63 years are one son, James Wade Marlowe (Vicki) of Georgetown; a daughter-in-law, Beth Marlowe; four grandchildren, Ashley Marlowe Benford (John John) of Georgetown, Will Marlowe of Denver, CO, Jacob Ross Marlowe of Greenville, SC, Grace Allston Marlowe of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three great grandchildren, Eleanor Elizabeth Moody, Trey Benford, and Scottie Morrison Benford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, George Scott Marlowe, Jr. and Ross Morrison Marlowe; a grandson, George Scott “Scottie” Marlowe III; and a sister, Anne Allston Morrison.
