Obituary of Daniel LeRoy Beard

Daniel LeRoy Beard, 81, husband of Barbara Crum Beard, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022 at his home. Mr. Beard was born in Clearfield, PA, on August 19, 1940 to the late Lewis Fredrick Beard and the late Cora Ellen George Beard. In addition to his wife of 63 years, Mr. Beard is survived by three children, Randy Beard (Betsy) of Wilmington, NC; Sandy Guseman of Pawleys Island, SC; Tim Beard (Marcia) of Naples, FL; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Jack Beard of Curwensville, PA; Art Beard (Alta) of Bates City, MO; a sister, Ruth Shear of Danville, KY; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, David, Richard and George Beard, his son-in-law, Phill Guseman, and his grandson, Brad Beard. Dan was a member of Georgetown First Assembly of God Church where he served as Deacon and was well respected for both his brevity and wisdom. Fellow deacons commented, “When Dan Beard spoke, you listened.” He believed in the unfailing love of his Savior, Jesus Christ, and was forever grateful for the amazing grace which was extended to him throughout his lifetime. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Georgetown First Assembly Church (GFA), 331 St James St, Georgetown, SC, on February 26 at 11am.
