Melvin M. Benton Sr., 87, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at his home.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 1PM in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 12PM.
Mr. Benton was born on March 30, 1934 in Williamsburg County to the late James L. Benton and the late Eva Snow Benton.
Mr. Benton is survived by three children, Melvin M. Benton, Jr. of Andrews, Ricki T. Benton of Georgetown, and Micki G. Benton of Pawleys Island; seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Benton was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela B. Benton, and 4 siblings, James Durant Benton, Holland Benton, Eastland Glisson, and Juanita Applesill.
