Obituary of Frances E. Pope

Frances E. “Money” Pope, 85, passed peacefully away on October 18, 2020 at her home with loving family and friends by her side. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 from 6PM-8PM at Graham Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2PM on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 in Graham Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will immediately follow the service and be held in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. Social distancing and masks will be required. Ms. Pope was born in Georgetown County on May 26, 1935 to the late Llewellyn E. Pope and the late Cora Daisy Marsh Pope. Ms. Pope worked for a number of years with several retail groceries in Georgetown. She was an avid lover of cats and volunteered at Saint Frances Animal Center, Helping Hands, Salvation Army, and Martha’s House. She was a member of Graves Baptist Church. In her free time, she enjoyed the company of her friends and family. Surviving are one son, William A. “Billy” Bookhart (Robin) of Pawleys Island; one daughter, Judy B. Lewis (Larry) of Georgetown; a special “adopted” daughter and son-in-law Sherry and Joe Hughes of Georgetown; a very special friend, Cheryl Baldwin of Georgetown; three grandchildren, Candice Bookhart (Bernard) of Georgetown, Danielle Bookhart of Myrtle Beach, and William Brandon McWethy (Kelly) of Pawleys Island; five great grandchildren, Emory, Lee, Liam, Mason, Lincoln; and her beloved cat, Tom. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lue A. Pope. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Saint Frances Animal Center at 125 Ridge Street, Georgetown, SC 29440.
