Daphne Juliette James Carr, 54, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020 peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
Born in Georgetown on February 11, 1966, she was the daughter of Harold Hope James, Sr. and the late Sylvia Juliette McConnell James. Ms. Carr was a 1984 Winyah High School graduate and earned a dental hygienist degree from Florence-Darlington Technical College. She worked for Dr. Johnny Joseph for several years. Ms. Carr was a member of Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church. In her free time, she loved doing crafts and spending time on Black River with her friends and family.
Surviving are one daughter, Bevan Juliette Carr of Georgetown, one son, James Stancil Carr (Mary Baldrick) of Georgetown; her husband Charles Rish of Georgetown; one brother, Harold Hope James, Jr. (Donna); one niece, Brittany James; one nephew, Tres James; a number of extended family and special friends; and her beloved family pets.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandparents and a number of friends.
In lieu of flowers, Daphne requested that memorials be made in the children’s names to Carolina Charm so that they would receive flowers from her on special occasions.
Funeral services will be private due to current health concerns; however, the family will hold a public memorial service at a later date.
