Obituary of William Henry Van Vlake

William Henry “Billy” Van Vlake, 72, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019 at McLeod Health in Florence. Born in Georgetown, SC on February 22, 1947, he was a son of the late Richard Lee Van Vlake and the late Alice Katherine Goldman Van Vlake. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at 1PM at Ringel Heights Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 12PM. Burial, directed by Graham Funeral Home, will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. Mr. Van Vlake was a Winyah High Graduate and a United States Navy Veteran who served in Vietnam. He worked for International Paper Company for 42 years and attended Ringel Heights Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Sheri Reeves Van Vlake; one son, Lee Van Vlake (Adrienne H.) of Florence; one daughter, Catherine Van Vlake Bone (Michael Anthony) of Andrews; eight grandchildren, Hannah Alexis Van Vlake, Reeves Kellahan Player, Haylee Michelle Van Vlake, Matthew Bradley Player, William Henry Van Vlake III “Hank”, Clint Lee Van Vlake, and Michael Case Bone; three sisters, Judy Hilliard (Tommy) of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Helen Oliver of Stoney Creek, VA, Terri Parrott of Andrews, SC; three brothers, Richard Van Vlake of Myrtle Beach, SC, Ronny Van Vlake (Sheila) of Camden, and Mike Van Vlake (Pam) of Georgetown, SC.
