Obituary of Carolyn Lee Owens

Carolyn Lee “Beanie” Owens, 73, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at Graham Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 2:30PM.  The family will receive friends from 1PM-2:30PM prior to the service.  Burial will immediately follow the service and be held in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.

Born on December 5, 1945 in Florence, she was the daughter of the late Fred Benjamin Lee, Jr. and the late Rosalee Cooper Lee.  She was a member of Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church and loved traveling and doing mission trips.  Ms. Owens enjoyed flower gardening and dressing up and going out with friends.  Some of her most fond memories were spent with friends and family shagging to beach music. Her loving and outgoing personality will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Surviving are one daughter, Paulette Owens Glisson of Pawleys Island; one granddaughter, Courtney Matthews (Seth) of Florence; one grandson, Kent Glisson of Pawleys Island; one great grandson, Emerson Matthews of Florence; and one brother, Edward M. Lee of Varnville, SC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Owens Hughes.
