Obituary of Alvin Isiah Moore

Alvin Isiah Moore, 94, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Morningside of Georgetown.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 7, 2019 at 2PM at Lakewood Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1PM-2PM. Interment will immediately follow the service in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.

Born in Williamsburg County on August 3, 1925 he was a son of the late John D. Moore and the late Virline Britt Moore. Mr. Moore was a Marine World War II Veteran and owned and operated a HVAC business locally since the early 1960’s.  He was a long-time member of Lakewood Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and watching baseball in his free time. 

Surviving are two children, Nancy Harter (Larry) of Midlothian, VA and Pat Moore (Monica) of Pawleys Island, SC; six grandchildren, Rachel, Jason, Kelli, Alyson, Kimberly, Patrick; seven great grandchildren, Jade, Hayden, Thane, Rhys, Selwyn, Riley, Sophie; two sisters, Ruby Ann Moore of Florence, SC and Mary Lee Mixon of Little Rock, AR; four brothers, Harry Moore (Aldean) of Georgetown, J.V. Moore (Ada Jean) of Georgetown, Luther Moore of Georgia, and Paul Moore of Florence; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jane Pinner Moore; a son, Ronnie Moore; two sisters, Katie Forbes and Mae Harris; and one brother, Willie Moore.
