William David Nelson, 93, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Tidelands Community Hospice House. Born on August 19, 1918, in Detroit, MI, he was a son of the William G. Nelson and the late Bessa David Nelson. Mr. Nelson was an avid reader and enjoyed working with wood. Survivors include two children, William L. Nelson (Barbara) of Georgetown and Marcia M. Van Hoose (Sammy) of Jacksonville, FL; eight grandchildren, Warren Nelson (Maurine) of Pawleys Island, Michell Padgette (James) of Pamplico, Arnette Graham (Paul) of Georgetown, Deborah Blair (David) and Deanna Van Hoose all of Jacksonville, FL, Bobby Nelson (Dawn), Gary Nelson (Tonya) and Chrissy Nelson all of Seminole, FL; and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard R. Nelson. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, June 26, 2012 in the Graham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ted Sherrill officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday at Graham Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Tidelands Community Hospice, 2591 N. Fraser St. Georgetown, SC 29440.
