Obituary of Marshall O'Neil Shuler
Marshall O’Neil Shuler, 77, husband of Betty Mae Lambert Shuler, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 2PM at Georgetown Church of God. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30-2PM. Burial will follow the service in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
Born in Berkeley County, SC on May 19, 1942, he was a son of the late Mr. Marshall Shuler and Mrs. Hazel Hartley Shuler Hill Marsh. Upon his father’s early passing, he was raised by his mother and stepfather, Mr. C.P. Hill.
Mr. Shuler served in the South Carolina National Guard for six years, retiring as a Sergeant. He was a faithful member of Georgetown Church of God for over 56 years where he and his wife raised their three sons. He served many terms on the Pastor’s and Church Council. Mr. Shuler retired from International Paper after 42 years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and gardening.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 56 years are two sons, Reverend M. Eric Shuler (Dawn) of Honea Path, Mark (Hope) Shuler of Georgetown; a daughter-in-law, Wendy Shuler of Hartsville; six grandchildren, Erica Shuler of Honea Path, Caleb and Jacob Shuler of Hartsville, Noah Shuler, Jasmine Shuler, River Shuler, all of Georgetown; two brothers, Cassie Hill of Georgetown and Charles Hill of Myrtle Beach; one sister, Mary Ida Cribb of Georgetown; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Shuler; a grandchild, Dustin Shuler; and two sisters, Minnie Kay Bone and Judy Elliott.
