Obituary of Alfred Lanci

Alfred Lanci, age 85, died after a short illness on June 20, 2012 in Pawleys Island, SC. He was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran and graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Delaware in 1951. He retired from DuPont Engineering after forty-two years of service. He was an innovator; a registered Professional Engineer; a Project Manager of numerous multi-million dollar facilities including the first DuPont Kevlar® factory in Richmond, Virginia. He was a fine athlete with many interests later in life including golf, skiing and dancing. Loved by all, especially his family, friends and co-workers, he is survived by his wife, Pauline Lanci of Murrells Inlet, SC; his children, Jeffrey Lanci and his wife Rose of Wilmington, DE; JoAnn Adams and her husband Michael of League City, TX; John Lanci and his wife Suzanne of Biloxi, MS; his grandchildren Seth Grueneberg and wife Lindsay of Austin, TX; Jennifer Lanci of Wilmington, DE; Scott Lanci of Pawleys Island, SC; John Lanci, Jr. of Seneca, SC; Evan Adams of League City, TX; and his great-grandson Waylan Grueneberg of Austin, TX. Services will be held on June 29, 2012 at Belin Methodist Church, Murrells Inlet, SC at 4PM.
