Obituary of Thomas Edward Pope

Thomas Edward Pope, 73, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 1PM at Ball & Que Restaurant.

Born in Georgetown, SC on December 8, 1945 he was a son of the late Thomas Johnson Pope and the late Louise Welch Pope. He was a graduate of Pleasant Hill High School and a former officer in the Rock Hill Moose Lodge.  In his free time, Mr. Pope enjoyed surf fishing, billiards, NASCAR, and riding his golf cart to the beach to watch the sunset.  He loved antique cars and was an avid Gamecock fan. 

Surviving are one daughter, Tammy J. Pope of Pawleys Island, SC; one son, Tony E. Pope (Karla) of Chester, SC; grandsons, Sean Swindell (Allison) of Crawfordville, FL, Bryson Pope of Charlotte, NC, Matthew Swindell (Ashli) of Virginia Beach, VA, Patrick Pope of Columbia, SC; two granddaughters, Lauren Treadwell (Chris) of Jacksonville, FL and Meredith Pope of Chester, SC; two great grandchildren; one brother, John Douglas Pope (Suzanne) of Hemingway; a brother in law, Jimmy Capps; a very special friend, Norma Tuck of Garden City, SC; his beloved dog Rudy; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Pope Capps.
