Obituary of Julie Jeanette Skipper

Julie Jeanette Skipper, 78, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Prince George Healthcare Center.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 5-7PM at Graham Funeral Home.

Born on December 1, 1939 in Conway, SC, she was a daughter of the late Alton Thomas Skipper and Katie Eugenia Richardson Skipper.

Ms. Skipper was a Winyah High School Graduate and a graduate of the Medical College of Nursing (now MUSC).  She served in the United States Air Force as a nurse and a nurse practitioner and completed three tours of duty in Vietnam.  After retiring from the Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel, Ms. Skipper completed her career as an operating room nurse with Georgetown Hospital System.  She enjoyed reading, quilting, and traveling.  She was a member of First Baptist Church. 

Surviving are her sister, Kathy S. Ogburn of Georgetown; a special niece, Kimberly Ogburn Edwards (Michael) of Georgetown; a special nephew, Christopher A. Skipper (Amy) of Mount Pleasant; three great nephews, Jameson Edwards, Alec Skipper, and Zach Skipper; two great nieces, Kaitlyn Edwards and Graceyn Skipper.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny A. Skipper, and a brother-in-law, Gary P. Ogburn.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to VFW Memorial Wall at Georgetown County Veterans Memorial 715 Church Street, Georgetown, SC 29440.
