Obituary of Alecia Blakely Tuten-Canfield
Alecia Blakely Tuten-Canfield, 37, wife of Duane Canfield, passed away Saturday September 29, 2018 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Panama City Florida, she was a daughter of Alec Herlone Tuten and Marcia Jernigan Tuten.
A celebration of life, officiated by Reverend Robbie Sox, will be held 3 P.M. Friday October 5, 2018 in the Chapel of Graham Funeral Home. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service beginning at 2 P.M.
Blakely graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a degree in Hospitality and was employed as a Revenue Manager with Shaner Corporation. She enjoyed family vacations to the mountains and considered Helen, Georgia one of her favorite spots. Blakely bravely battled breast cancer for over five years and faithfully lived up to the motto of “Fight Like a Girl” every day. She was an animal lover and spoiled her dogs, Stretch, Sophie, and Sassy. Blakely also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her two children and her niece.
Surviving, in addition to her parents and husband are: a daughter, Clarissa Anne Headrick of Columbia, South Carolina; a son, Michael Blake Headrick of Monroe, North Carolina; her paternal grandfather, John Herlone Tuten of Georgetown; two sisters, Marci Claire Tuten of Hartsville, South Carolina and Ann-Lamar Tuten (Shawn Brodersen) of Columbia, South Carolina; one niece, Ella Ann Brodersen of Columbia, South Carolina; and a very special friend, Katie Smith, also of Columbia, South Carolina.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Ann and Richard Jernigan and her paternal grandmother Maude Lamb Tuten.
