Obituary of Frankie Johnson

Frankie Jerald Johnson, 78, husband of Betty Jo Johnson, died peacefully in his sleep on May 25, 2012 at his home. Born on May 22, 1934, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late Jasper Johnson and the late Janie Bell Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a US Navy veteran and retired from International Paper Company with 35 years of service. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Betty Jo Johnson; four children, Scott, Cheryl, David and Amy; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; and two sisters, Amelia Blake and Jackie McDonald. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry, Jasper and Jimmy; and a sister, Edna. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family would like to give a special "thank you" to all of the dedicated and gracious workers with Hospice Care of South Carolina, especially Miss Ruthie, Miss Robin, and Miss Kris, and to Frankie’s and Betty’s personal friends and relatives.
