Obituary of Brian Phillip Thompson

Brian Phillip Thompson, 36, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018 at his residence.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Wayne United Methodist Church at 6pm.

Born in Marion, Ohio on December 16, 1981, Brian was the son of Phillip Ward Thompson and Dreama Genae Martin Thompson.

Mr. Thompson was a Class of 2000 graduate of Pleasant High School in Marion, OH.  He loved music and playing the djembe drum.  In his free time, he enjoyed going to music festivals or spending time with his nephews.   

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are one sister, Terra Genae Swails (Brent) of Georgetown, SC; four nephews, Logan, Lucius, Aubrey, Titus, of Georgetown, SC; maternal grandmother, Lily May Martin of Marion, OH; paternal grandparents, Edward and Phyllis Thompson of Marion, OH; his girlfriend of over two years, Tonya Mueller; and numerous aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ishamel Martin; a nephew, Atticus Swails; and a niece, Jennifer Ada Swails.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Wayne United Methodist Church at 621 Wayne Street, Georgetown, SC 29440 to set up a fund for addiction treatment.
