Obituary of Beatrice Crews

Beatrice Knight Crews, 90, wife of Edward N. Crews, Jr., passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at her home. Born on June 29, 1921, in Henderson, NC, she was a daughter of the late John Brooks Knight and the late Martha Johnson Knight. Mrs. Crews was a graduate of Henderson High School and Henderson Business College. After college she married the love of her life on August 15, 1946. Mrs. Crews was a member of Wayne United Methodist Church. She enjoyed baking, gardening watching birds, going fishing and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Edward N. Crews, Jr. of Georgetown; two children, Susan Godwin (Sandy) of Scranton and Steve Crews (Cheryl) of Georgetown; five grandchildren, Sonya Molnar (Rob) of Florence, Ron Godwin of Lake City, Melissa Carsten (Bobby) of Lake City, Brook Martin (Jay) of Georgetown and Jennifer Crews (Timmy) of Murrells Inlet; 6 great grandchildren; a special niece, Rita Strickland (Hank) of Rocky Mount, NC; and four special friends, Alvie Smith, Eloise Smith, Mary Ann Hurley and Penny Sheffield. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Crews; a granddaughter, Katie Crews; 4 sisters; and 2 brothers. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Wayne United Methodist Church with the Rev. Danny Chamblee officiating. Burial will follow in the Lee Cemetery in Lake City.
