Obituary of Ronald Howard, Sr.
Sergeant Ronald Joe Howard, Sr., 71, husband of Lynda McCutcheon Howard, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017 at his residence.
A funeral, officiated by Rev. Stacey Floyd, will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at United Christian Outreach at 2PM. A visitation will be held at Graham Funeral Home on Monday, December 4, 2017 from 6PM-8PM. A burial, with military honors, directed by Graham Funeral Home, will follow the service and be held in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
Born in Conway, South Carolina on July 9, 1946, he was a son of the late William Doward Howard Sr and the late Dorothy Poole Howard.
Mr. Howard was a United States Army Veteran who served in the Vietnam War and was a squad leader and Tunnel rat and was awarded three Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion and Disabled Veterans group. Mr. Howard lived in the area all of his life and was a former member of the Church of Nazarene in Georgetown. He loved baseball, football and wrestling and was an avid fan of Clemson and Atlanta Braves.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 51 years, are two daughters, Monica Howard McConnell and Bobby McConnell, Suzanne Michelle Holt (Seth); two sons, Ronald Joe “Joey” Howard, Jr.(Erin) and Rev. Mark Anthony Howard, Sr. (Wendy); seven grandchildren, BJ McConnell, Kyle McConnell, Jennifer McConnell, AJ Howard, Todd Howard, Breanna Howard, Matthew Howard; and one great grandson, Knox McConnell and special friends Robin Glass and Richard Oneal Martin.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, William Doward Howard, Jr.; one sister, Ruby Jean Rader; and one daughter, Melissa Ann Howard.
