Obituary of Denise Gore King
Michelle Denise Gore King, 53, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service, officiated by Reverend Jamie Harrelson, will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 3pm at First Baptist Church of Georgetown. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1pm-3pm at the church. Interment will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
Born in Georgetown, SC on October 26, 1963, she was a daughter of the late James Archie Gore and the late Fancy Hyman Gore.
Ms. King was a Winyah High graduate who loved golf and boating. She was a lieutenant with the Georgetown County Sheriff’s department for over 25 years where she served the community selflessly and volunteered her time wherever it was needed. She was the first female deputy hired by the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office and was currently serving as the Lieutenant over Judicial Operations. She was a loving sister, aunt, and friend who will be missed beyond measure.
Surviving are one sister, Renee Gore Wall (Allen) of Kingstree; one brother, Danny Gore of Georgetown; four nieces, Betsy McKenzie (Wayne), Sarah Fancy Gore, Katie Gore, Brooke Wall; two nephews, Adam Wall (Maggie) and James Gore; three great nephews, John Wayne McKenzie, Allen Colt McKenzie, and Landen Gore; ex-husband and friend, Jeffery Allen King of Myrtle Beach.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Stan Gore.
