On Tuesday, March 27th at 10:16 AM, Frankie Jewel left to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving children. She was 80 years young.
She was born on October 29th, 1931 in Finklea Township, Horry County. Mrs. Goins was the daughter of the late Martin Durham and Roxie Cleo Buffkin Hammond. Frankie Jewel graduated from Green Sea High School. She was married to the late Horace Goins on May 3rd, 1950. She was a devoted wife, mother and Sunday School teacher. She attended Antioch Pentecostal Holiness Church. Her interests were crocheting, cross stitching, vegetable and flower gardening. She enjoyed reading especially poetry. Frankie Jewel had an avid interest in history and politics.
She leaves behind two daughters, Rev. Wanda Wilson (Rev. Johnny R. Wilson), Janice R. Goins, and a son, Horace Goins, Jr. (Cindy Ray).
She had 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bobby Faye King and Darcus Ann Bullard; three brothers, Elery, Joseph and Houston (Ethel) Hammond; and two sisters in law, Patricia Hammond and Shirley Hammond.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Pamela Jewel Holt; two sisters, Katheryn Mayers and Peggy Jean Johnson; four brothers, Aaron, Franklin, Jimmy and Martin Hammond.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Friday, March 30, 2012 at First Assembly of God with the Rev. David Richardson, Rev. Wanda Wilson and Rev. Dave Hoskins officiating. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday at Graham Funeral Home.
