Julius A. Stickell, Sr., 81, passed away after a short battle with cancer on Tuesday, February 5, 2016 at his residence.
Born May 26, 1934 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, he was a son of the late Joseph Lester Stickell and Alice Edna Winslow Stickell.
Mr. Stickell attended Williams Hill Free Will Baptist Church. He was a member of the Cross-Creek Beagle Club and founder of Carver’s Bay Kennels. He loved the outdoors and competing in field trials with his AKC registered beagles. Mr. Stickell was a coin collector and musician. He enjoyed playing his guitar and writing songs. Mr. Stickell was also a wonderful artist who loved painting. In his free time, he enjoyed boating, deer hunting, and metal detecting.
Surviving are one son, Julius “Jay” Angelus Stickell, Jr. (Mi H.) of Las Vegas, Nevada; one daughter, Nina A. Stickell Bennett (David) of Wichita, Kansas; two grandchildren, Christy Wainwright of Joshua Tree, California and Mira Payeur of Waterboro, Maine; two great grandchildren, Cory Payeur and Devin Leuesque; his fiancé, Valerie Slusarz; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his wife Elizabeth Ann Rogers Stickell, he was predeceased by a son, Alan Todd Stickell and he was the last remaining survivor of 10 brothers and sisters.
