Obituary of Bernice B. Whitehead

Bernice B. Whitehead, 89, passed away Monday, October 5, 2015 at Carolinas Hospital in Florence, South Carolina. Born November 7, 1925 in Georgetown County, Mrs. Whitehead was a daughter of the late Ira J. Burgess and Hattie F. Burgess. A graveside funeral service, officiated by Rev. Billy Anderson, will be held Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 3PM at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2pm at Graham Funeral Home, 2200 S. Fraser Street. Mrs. Whitehead was a beloved mother, sister, and friend who enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Surviving are her son, Gary Hendrix of Pamplico; two grandsons, Gary Hendrix (Melissa) of Pawleys Island and Troy Hendrix of Pamplico; one granddaughter, Stacie H. Kirby (Glenn) of Pamplico; six great grandchildren, Zachary Hendrix of Pamplico, Cory Hendrix of Pamplico, Dalton Hendrix of Pawleys Island, Christian Kirby of Pamplico, McKenzie Hendrix of Pawleys Island, and Ethan Kirby of Pamplico; one sister, Mildred Burgess of Darlington; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James W. Whitehead, and her siblings, Dorethea B. Chavis, Cleo Coleman, Thelma Coleman, John L.
