Obituary of Florella Blanchard Peterson

Florella Manet Blanchard Peterson, 66, of Pawleys Island passed away on Thurday, July 16 peacefully at home.
Born in Georgetown, she attended First Baptist with her family, graduated from Winyah High School, then Palmer College in Charleston before moving to Greenville. While in Greenville, she worked witgh the Junior League, and raised her children while working for GMAC Financing before retiring and moving back home. Flo was instrumental in the creation and operation of The Bridge Club of Pawleys Island, worked tirelessly with Helping Hands of Georgetown, and was very active in the Women of Wealth Investments of Pawleys Island. Flo’s baking and hospitality along with absolute love of life and family were but a few of her treasured traits.
Flo is survived by her beloved husband, Norris Pryor Peterson of Pawleys Island; son, Todd Alan Peterson and granddaughters Kaitlin Elizabeth and Alexis Kay Peterson of Gaithersburg, MD; daughter, Mary Caroline Edwards Ashmore, son-in-law Charles Kevin Ashmore, and granddaughter, Maryn Grace Ashmore of Greenville, SC; son, George Christopher Scoville Edwards, also of Greenville, SC; brother, Benjamin Bari Blanchard, and sister-in-law, Mary Kathlyn Mendenhall of Byron, GA, as well as many treasured cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Flo was welcomed home into the Lord’s arms surrounded by her parents, George W. and Mary Nettie Blanchard; brother, Grecian Wade Blanchard, and daughter, Terri Kay Peterson; along with many other joyous family member, friends, and pets.
A memorial service, officiated by Rev. Ted Sherrill, will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 1pm at Graham Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 6pm-8pm on Monday, July 20, 2015 at Graham Funeral Home as well as one hour prior to the memorial service.
