Obituary of Zuline Bowers Edwards

Zuline Bowers Edwards, 81, widow of Charles Richard Edwards, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Tidelands Community Hospice House. Born on September 17, 1933, in Florence, she was a daughter of the late Willie Bowers and the late Jessie Brunson Bowers. Mrs. Edwards went to school in Estill and Florence where she attended McClenaghan High School and was chosen both Homecoming and May Queen. She loved to be outdoors and her perfect day was spent outside in the sunshine in her yard. She enjoyed walking on the beach whenever she had the chance and spending time with her family, friends and caregivers, Everlee Holmes and Aretha McCutcheon. Mrs. Edwards raised her children and then returned to work retiring from Wachovia Bank. She was a member of the Green Pond Baptist Church. Survivors include four children, William R. Edwards (Lisa) of Edisto Island, David B. Edwards (Genene) of Georgetown, Miriam E. Mace (Bill) of Georgetown and Stephen C. Edwards of Georgetown; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 3 PM Sunday, January 4, 2015 in the Graham Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
