Obituary of Hazel Norris

Hazel Norris, 76, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2014 at Tidelands Community Hospice House. Born on August 22, 1938, in Columbus County, NC, she was a daughter of Gertha Norris and the late Earl Norris. She was a member of Screven Baptist Church and the Esther Sunday School class and a former member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte where she sang in the church choir. Survivors include her mother of Georgetown; a brother, Ed Norris (Nancy) of Georgetown; a sister, Barbara Norris Hunt (Tony “K”) of Laurenburg, NC; a sister in law, Judy Norris of Georgetown; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Dock Norris; and a nephew, Shawn Norris. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Screven Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Williams officiating. Burial will follow at 3 PM in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Tabor City, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
