Obituary of Robert Owens Driggers

Robert Owens “Uncle Bob” Driggers, 79, widower of Louise Powers Driggers, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2014 at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Born on November 2, 1934, in Calhoun County, he was a son of the late George Mosley Driggers and the late Lizzy Furtick Driggers. Mr. Driggers was a member of Wayne United Methodist Church and was a US Navy veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Driggers was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and enjoyed wood carving and spending time with his family.
Survivors include a brother, Thomas Driggers (Geri) of Stockton, CA; two nieces, Angela Goodwin (Bruce) of Glen Burnie, MD and Dawn P. Elliott (Eric Hemeon) of Georgetown; five nephews, Ray Driggers (Brenda) of Summerville, Joe Bauernfeind of Glen Burnie, MD, John Driggers (Connie Cox) of Stockton, CA, Clay Prosser (Sarah Grainger) of Georgetown and Sammy Powers of Georgetown; 12 great nieces and nephews, Nichole, Bruce, Jessica, David, William, Catherine, Madeline, Joshua, Abigayle, Kelsea, Tara and Lexie; one great-great nephew, Brandon; two sisters in law, Hazel Driggers of Summerville and Annette Powers of Georgetown; and one brother in law, Robert Bauernfeind of Bozman, MD.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Louise P. Driggers, the love of his life; two sisters, Gloria Ann Bauernfeind and Frances Driggers; one brother, John Driggers; two sisters in law, Carol P. Prosser and Bertha Martin; and two brothers in law, Dewey Powers and Elbert P. Prosser, Jr.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM Monday, August 18, 2014 at Wayne United Methodist Church with Rev. Danny Chamblee and Rev. Jack Todd officiating. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Sunday at Graham Funeral Home.
