Obituary of Richard Eric Van Vlake

Richard Eric Van Vlake, 43, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. Born on December 8, 1970, in Columbia he was the son of O. Richard Van Vlake and the late Karen O. Van Vlake. Eric enjoyed playing golf and was an avid Clemson fan and Dallas Cowboys fan. He excelled in basketball having played for Otero College, Coker College and Spartanburg Methodist. All who knew him loved his generous spirit and loving heart. He was a loving son, father, brother and uncle and will be dearly missed by all who loved him. Survivors include his father of Myrtle Beach; a son, Christopher Davis of Myrtle Beach; three sisters, Allison Van Vlake of Georgetown, Lisa Van Vlake Rowe of Pawleys Island and Denise Van Vlake Judy of Conway; and five nieces. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM Friday, July 18, 2014 in the Graham Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
