Obituary of Bertha Marie Starkey Gertig

Bertha Marie Starkey Gertig, 80, wife of Roy Fred Gertig, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2014 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Born on December 25, 1933, in White Plains, NY, she was a daughter of the late Irvin Starkey and the late Adelaide Colligan Starkey. Mrs. Gertig was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary VFW 6444, American Legion Post 178 and the co-founder of the Elks Lodge #900 in Pawleys Island.
Survivors include her husband of Georgetown; two sons, Roy S. Gertig (Kay) of Bellevue, NE and Erich Gertig of Georgetown; five grandchildren, Steven, Christopher, Erich, Scott and Amy.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Friday at Graham Funeral Home.
