Obituary of John Bogan

John Henry Bogan, 78, passed away Monday, February 6, 2012 at his home. Born on March 25, 1933, in Swannanoa, NC, he was the son of the late Odelle Bogan and the late Mary Stephenson Bogan. Mr. Bogan was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and the Korean Conflict. He was a man of many talents and accomplishments to include being an inventor and a writer having written many articles for the US Government. His hobbies included restoring vintage bicycles and working with the Greyhound Rescue organizations. Survivors include five children, Suzanne Poston (Steve, Sr.) of Georgetown, Vicky Chandley (Douglas) of Georgetown, Beth Allred (David) of Kernersville, NC, John Bogan, Sr. (Crystal) of Georgetown and Stephen Bogan (Melissa) of Georgetown; 15 grandchildren, Stephanie Elliott, Eddie Poston, Sandi Wilder, Michelle Carter, Misty Sanders, Joni Howell, Ashley Baker, John Bogan, Jr., Christina Bogan, Katie Bogan, Mary Larimore, Edward Larimore, Courtney Larimore, David Beeson, Jr. and Jeffery Beeson; 14 great grandchildren; and his faithful dog, Crystal June. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Eastside Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Wednesday at Graham Funeral Home. Graham Funeral Home of Georgetown is in charge of the arrangements. www.grahamfuneralhome.org
