Obituary of Ellis Eugene Leigh

Ellis Eugene “Gene” Leigh, 67, husband of Judy Skipper Leigh passed away on Friday, May 16, 2014 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Born on September 12, 1946, in Conway, he was the son of the late Eddie Ellis Leigh and the late Margaret Sullivan Leigh. Mr. Leigh was a member of First Assembly of God where he served as former Sunday School Superintendent, a former deacon and many other positions within the church. He enjoyed working, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Leigh was the owner of Gene’s Lawn Service Inc. Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; a daughter, Jeanie (Rod) Duncan of Andrews; and a son, Timmy (Charlene) Leigh of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Daniel Duncan, Dillon Duncan, Caleb Ledford and Andrew Leigh; two sisters, Janice (Bryan) Jordan of Conway and Pat (Fritz) Gibson of Myrtle Beach. Mr. Leigh was predeceased by a son, Kevin Eugene Leigh. Funeral Service will be held at 3:30 PM Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at First Assembly of God with Rev. Clifford Coursey, Rev. Dave Hoskins, Rev. Tommy Cox and Rev. Wayne Powell officiating. Entombment will be held in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday at First Assembly of God.
