Obituary of James Pollock

James Furman Pollock, 81, husband of Elsie B. Pollock, died Friday, September 16, 2011 at Tidelands Hospice House. Born on February 12, 1930 in Jamesville, NC he was a son of the late Lewis Addie Pollock and the late Glennie Mae Scarboro Pollock. Mr. Pollock was a member of Holy Cross Faith Memorial Church as well as a choir member. He was a 1952 graduate of Furman University and was a US Army Veteran. He retired from Belk Department Store with 40 years of service. Mr. Pollock was a Rotary member and was a former member of the Georgetown Board of Education. Survivors include his wife; five children, James R. Pollock, Jeffrey L. Pollock, John B. Pollock, Lyn F. Kochie and Nancy E. Pollock; three grandchildren, James Kochie, Jennifer Kochie and Catherine Kochie; and a brother, Richard S. Pollock. A memorial service will be held at 4 PM Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Holy Cross Faith Memorial Church with the Rev. Alex Barron officiating.
