James Leonard "Tank" Baldwin, Sr., 73, husband of Mickie Missroon Baldwin died Friday, June 17, 2011 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Born on January 20, 1938 in Georgetown he was a son of the late James Baldwin and the late Erin Carter Baldwin. Mr. Baldwin was a charter member of Friendfield Presbyterian Church and was a US Navy Veteran. He was retired from Georgetown Laundry after 42 years of service. Mr. Baldwin was a Jaycee, a former little league baseball coach and was a past chairman of the Kensington School board. Mr. Baldwin enjoyed fishing and his passion was his church and family. Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; three children, Sharon Shirer (Bill) of Georgetown, Allison Snowden (C.P.) of Florence and James L. Baldwin, Jr. (Susan) of Pawleys Island; six grandchildren, Millison Jordan (Scott), Cody Clark, Meaghan Morris, Davis Morris, Dylan Morris and Jameson Baldwin; one great grandchild, Taylor Jordan; and one sister, Shelia Hartley of Charlotte, NC. A memorial service will be held at 6PM Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Friendfield Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Johnny Deloache and Rev. Rhett Talbert officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service. Memorials may be made to Friendfield Presbyterian Church, P.O. 431, Georgetown, SC 29442.
