Obituary of Stella Hodge

Stella Lowder Hodge, 75, widow of Stuber R. Hodge died Friday, May 6, 2011 at Tidelands Community Hospice House. Born on August 21, 1935 in Manning she was a daughter of the late David Thomas Lowder and the late Julia Rhodus Lowder. Mrs. Hodge was a member of Pine Crest Baptist Church and was retired from Piggly Wiggly. Survivors include four children, Gary Hodge (Alicia), Wayne Hodge (Vera) Glennie Dail and Annette Miller all of Andrews; seven grandchildren, Greg Hodge, Casey Hodge, Chad Hodge, Samantha Hodge Goins, Jennifer Dail Carter, Christopher Miller and Cortney Miller; one great grandchild, Paisley Caydence Carter; one brother, Henry Lowder; and four sisters, Dora Jane Richburg, Sylvia Fields, Susie Way and Fran Lowder. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gary Dail; a sister, Annie L. White; and three brothers, Talmadge Lowder, Tom Loweder and Walter Lowder. Funeral Services will be held at 4PM Sunday, May 8, 2011 at Pine Crest Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Mobley. Burial will follow in Earls Pentecostal Holiness Church. The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pine Crest Baptist Church, PO BOX 31, Andrews, SC 29510 or Tidelands Community Hospice House, 2591 N. Fraser St. Georgetown, SC 29440.
