Obituary of Ronald Altman

Ronald Waitus Altman, 52, husband of Betty Baker Altman, died Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Tidelands Community Hospice House. Born on January 19, 1959 in Conway he was a son of Waitus Altman and Rosalie Richardson Altman. Mr. Altman was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church and the Winyah Masonic Lodge #40. He was a Shriner and the President of G&W Shrine Club from 1998-1999 as well as a member of the Hillbilly Clan #82. Mr. Altman was also a member of Lowcountry Thunder where he served on the board for 4 years, a volunteer firefighter and instructor. His hobbies were motorcycle riding, hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife and parents of Georgetown; two children, Matthew Altman (Erin) of Rock Hill and Brice Altman of Georgetown; one grandchild, Madison Altman; one sister, Cheryl O’Rear (Sean) of Georgetown; three brothers, Tim Altman (Sandi) of Mt. Pleasant, Gerald Altman (Debbie) of Georgetown and Brian Altman (Christie) of Mt. Pleasant; a number of nieces and nephews; and many special friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Jason Altman; and granddaughter, Regan N. Altman. Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Lakewood Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Deeter officiating. Burial will follow in the Souls Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at Graham Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Tidelands Community Hospice House, 2591 N. Fraser Street Georgetown, SC 29440 or Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
