William "Bill" M. Mozley, 69, husband of Jewel F. Mozley died Monday, February 21, 2011unexpectedly while doing what he loved, helping someone with a plumbing job.
Born on August 22, 1941 in Panama City, Florida he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Milford Mozley. Mr. Mozley was a US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War and was stationed on the USS Sandoval. While in the Navy he learned plumbing from the pipefitters aboard the ship. He was employed for more than 30 years with the Rural Community Water District of Georgetown and continued to use his skills to serve people of his hometown. He was an active member of Lakewood Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, usher and Sunday School Teacher. He was a mission-hearted man who found great joy sharing God’s love in other countries, as well as in his own community. He was a spiritual leader and worker with a group of people known as "Faith Workers" who fixed the broken homes and built ramps for the handicapped. As well as working with the children and youth of the church, Mr. Mozley worked with the Boy Scouts of America teaching boys to become strong, dedicated and worthwhile men.
Survivors include his loving wife; two daughters, Janice Boatwright (Ken) and Donna Price (Rich); three grandchildren, Brittany Boatwright, Ryan Price and Billy Mozley-Price; and two brothers, Milton Mozley and Wayne Mozley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milford Mozley and a sister, Terri Lee.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Lakewood Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Deeter officiating. Burial will follow in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at Graham Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lakewood Baptist Church for, "Pure Water, Pure Love" or "Faith Works", 200 Garden Ave., Georgetown, SC 29440.
