Obituary of Rev. Bussie Atkinson

Rev. Bussie Howard Atkinson, 90, husband of Iva Griffith Atkinson passed away Friday, January 14, 2011 at his home. Born on August 19, 1920 in Marlboro County he was a son of the late Ross Atkinson and the late Roma Atkinson. Mr. Atkinson was a member of Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a retired minister. Survivors include his wife of Andrews; two sisters, Elizabeth Sue Mullins of Andrews and Dorothy Mack of Columbia; five brothers, Melton Atkinson of Columbia, Rev. Thomas Atkinson of Lerona, WV, Charles Atkinson of Columbia, Bobby Atkinson of Columbia and L.D. Atkinson of Amarillo, TX.; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Alford Atkinson; and a sister Eloise Cossin. Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Clide Glover and Rev. Thomas Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
