Pamela Owens Hughes, 45, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2014 in Winston Salem, N.C. Born on December 2, 1968, in Georgetown, S.C., she was a daughter of Carolyn Lee Owens & Kenneth E. Owens. Pam was a graduate of Georgetown High School and attended Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C. and the University of New Mexico at Clovis, N.M. Pam was employed as a dental assistant in New Mexico and office manager to a dental practice while in Kentucky. Pam spent the majority of her adult life as a homemaker for her family. Although presently a resident of Winston-Salem in her heart, no matter where her travels took her, Pam always considered Georgetown County as her home Survivors include her husband, Jodie Hughes of Winston Salem, N.C.; her daughter, Paige Hughes of Winston Salem, N.C.; a son Phillip Hughes of Montgomery, Alabama; her mother, Carolyn Lee Owens of Florence, S.C.; father Kenneth Owens and stepmother Inez S. Owens of Scranton, S.C.; one beloved sister, Paulette Glisson of Pawleys Island, S.C.; and a niece and two nephews A memorial service will be held at 3 PM Friday, March 14, 2014 in the Graham Funeral Home Chapel.
