Obituary of Jessie Chastie

Jessie Junior "Slim" Chastie, 84, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Tidelands Community Hospice House. Born on September 1, 1929, in Oconee County, he was a son of the late William Chastie and the late Annie Mary Carter Chastie. Mr. Chastie was a former Mason and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Survivors include four children, Patricia C. Cook (Jerry) of Georgetown, Billy C. Chastie (Beth) of Columbia, Allan Chastie (Lisa) of Georgetown and Sandra G. DuMont of Georgetown; five grandchildren, Katie Cook of Georgetown, Laurie Chastie of Woodstock, GA, Chris Chastie of Woodstock, GA, April Chastie of Georgetown and Jacob DuMont of Georgetown; six great grandchildren, Lyrical Washington, Legend Washington, Jonas Chastie, Harper Chastie, Marlowe Chastie and Sawyer Chastie; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Chris Preston; and three brothers, David Chastie, Adger Chastie and William Chastie. A memorial service will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, December 7, 2013. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Tidelands Community Hospice House, 2591 N. Fraser St. Georgetown, SC 29440.
