Obituary of Barbara Hughes

Barbara G. Bass Hughes, 84, widow of Eddie Hughes passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Waccamaw Community Hospital. Born on January 26, 1929, in Redsprings, NC, she was a daughter of the late James Goodman and the late Elise Driggers Brewer. She was a member of Screven Baptist Church and enjoyed playing the piano. Survivors include four children, Charles Bass (Betty), Gayle Jayroe and Dianne Chassereau (Gene) all of Georgetown and William David Bass (Wanda) of Murrells Inlet; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and a sister, Patsy Detwiler of Summerton. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clifton Bass; and a stepfather, Jessie Brewer. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, November 12, 2013 in the Graham Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 noon – 2 PM Tuesday at Graham Funeral Home.
