John E. "Jack" Sengstacken, 90, widower of Joanne MacLeod Sengstaken, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Prince George Healthcare.
Born on May 4, 1923, in Suffern, NY, he was a son of the late Dr. Royal F. Sengstacken and the late Ruth Decker Sengstacken. Mr. Sengstacken was a US Army veteran having served in WWII. He enjoyed sailing and playing tennis.
Survivors include three children, Ann Kazaks (Richard) of Patchogue, NY, Nancy Cain (Richard) of Lexington and William Sengstacken (fiancé, Kristin Oblander) of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren, Jessica Kazaks (fiancé, Branson Fields) of CO, Kevin Kazaks of NC, Brian Kazaks of Patchogue, NY, and Rebecca Cain and Patrick Cain both of Lexington.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Royal F. Sengstacken; and a sister, Betty Sengstacken.
A gathering will be held at 4PM Monday, November 11, 2013 at the Belle Isle Rice Canal.
